Mr. Saeed Shafaq, a distinguished Pakistani composer and lyricist, has written a beautiful anthem for the Queen of the Netherlands, capturing the essence of Dutch culture and royal grace. The anthem, composed with deep respect and admiration, beautifully blends traditional melodies with contemporary elements, creating a timeless tribute to the Queen and the nation. Shafaq’s exceptional skill in crafting music that resonates across cultures has earned him widespread acclaim, and this composition is yet another testament to his global artistic influence. His work continues to bridge cultural divides, uniting people through the universal language of music.

Sadequain (1923–1987) was a renowned Pakistani painter, calligrapher, and poet, widely considered one of the most important figures in modern South Asian art. Born Syed Sadequain Ahmed Naqvi in Amroha, India, he moved to Pakistan after the partition in 1947. His art was marked by a unique fusion of traditional Islamic calligraphy and modernist styles, often reflecting the cultural and spiritual essence of his time.

Sadequain’s work transcended conventional boundaries, blending poetry with visual art. He was deeply influenced by Sufism, mysticism, and classical Persian poetry, frequently illustrating the works of poets like Allama Iqbal, Faiz Ahmed Faiz, and Rumi. His murals, which adorn various public buildings, including the State Bank of Pakistan and the Lahore Museum, showcase his mastery in blending vibrant colors and intricate designs with profound philosophical themes.

A prolific artist, Sadequain’s works were exhibited in numerous countries, gaining international acclaim. His calligraphy, characterized by bold, sweeping strokes, remains a significant part of his legacy. Though he passed away in 1987, Sadequain’s contributions to the world of art continue to inspire generations, making him a cultural icon in Pakistan and beyond.

Ali Sabri, one of the legendary Sabri Brothers, has once again mesmerized the world with his soul-stirring rendition of a qawwali that has captured the hearts of audiences across Europe. Known for his deep, powerful voice and profound connection to Sufism, Ali Sabri’s performance transcended cultural boundaries, leaving listeners in tears and joyfully swaying to the rhythm of divine love. His music, rich in spiritual depth, not only resonated with the audience’s emotions but also introduced many to the enchanting world of Sufi mysticism, proving once again the universal appeal of qawwali as a form of transcendent expression.
